Introduction
Following the EU Regulation 1606/2002, as of 2005 all listed companies in the European Union have to prepare their consolidated accounts based on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and abandon any National GAAP.
The Diploma in International Financial Reporting (DipIFR), which is awarded by the ACCA, will enable you to cross boundaries in an increasingly important field of accountancy.
Course Objectives
The DipIFR is designed to develop knowledge of IASs & IFRSs and to offer an understanding of the concepts and principles which underpin them, but it can also provide eligible Continuing Professional Development (CPD) units for ACCA members under the CPD scheme.
The DipIFR is the ideal IFRS qualification for experienced staff who may already hold a non-IFRS compliant accounting qualification. Possession of the DipIFR is positive proof of IFRS competence.
Assessment
The Diploma is assessed by one closed book written examination which lasts three hours, in June and December each year.
The Examination is organised by the ACCA.
Entry Requirements
The entry criteria are:
■ A nationally recognized accounting qualification, or
■ A relevant degree (which would gain exemptions from all of Part 1 and 2.1 and 2.2 on the ACCA Professional Scheme) plus 2 years work experience in an accounting environment, evidenced by an employer’s letter, or
■ 3 years work experience in an accounting environment, evidenced by an employer’s letter, or ■ ACCA affiliate status, or
■ ACCA Diploma in Financial Management (or Certified Diploma in Accounting & Finance), or
■ ACCA Certificate in International Financial Reporting plus three years work experience, evidenced by an employer’s letter.
Important Dates
You can apply to register for the DipIFR at any time.
ACCA must receive your Registration Form by the following dates:
■ For the June examinations you must register by 15 April of the same year.
■ For the December examinations you must register by 15 October of the same year.
Course Details
We offer the DipIFR course on a block release system of approximately 49 hours, starting in July and February for the December and June examinations respectively.
