INTRODUCTION
The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales is the oldest and largest accountancy body in Europe with more than 100,000 members. The ICAEW is the most prestigious Chartered Accountancy body of the United Kingdom and attracts many students every year who want to become qualified accountants.
IntercollegeIBS is an ACA Official Training Provider in Romania since April 2008.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
The revised Chartered Accountancy qualification builds on the profession’s traditional strengths whilst focusing on the needs of modern business. The course ensures that a candidate will develop the financial and technical experience needed to pursue a career in the accounting/auditing profession, the government, a semi-government organization, the banking sector and any type of local or international business.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
The entry requirements are: a total of of 220 UCAS tariff score, or 2 (A) levels and 3 GCSE (including Maths & English) or a first or upper second class or any equivalent in a first Bachelor degree.
COURSE DURATION
The duration of the course is 3 - 4 years and a minimum of 3 years of practical experience with an approved training firm is needed to gain the qualification.

EXAMINATION
There is no time limit for completing the course but only a maximum of 4 attempts per module is allowed, both for the Professional Stage and the Advanced Stage.
1. Credit will be retained for each paper passed.
2. Application based exams are written exams scheduled four times a year (March/June/
September/December) of 2 1/2hrs each sitting.
3. Knowledge exams are E-assessment based exams; i.e. computer based exams of 1 1/2hrs each exam. Those failing can reschedule their exam within 24 hours time again.
1. Candidates may attempt the CS once they are in the last year of their training contract.
2. Candidates may attempt the CS provided the other two Technical Integration papers have been attempted.
3. Credit will be retained for each paper passed.

Exemptions may be awarded on the basis of previous qualifications.
